Undecided: Day 70

Spook

Hey there. I’m not finished with this guy yet, but it took me a couple hours to get as far as I did, and now I can finish it up tomorrow and not have to worry about trying to come up with something new to draw.

I really can’t decide if I like this guy or not. I’m definitely going to have to get that bottom part of his cloak darker, and the red needs to be even redder so you don’t see the coloring lines. Then obviously I need to do something with the fire. I’m thinking of inking the outside layer, then coloring the inside like green or yellow or something. Not sure!

Overall, he’s pretty cool. It wasn’t that bright outside, so he actually looks better on paper (what else is new?) rather than digital. But maybe tomorrow will be a sunnier day. (Oh yeah, NOW the sun comes out as I’m writing this)

I completely destroyed my black colored pencil. Sharpened it right down to nothing today. I really need to stick to ink for the black spots. Well, I don’t really have much of a choice now as I don’t really have much black left.

Parasite Eve: Day 69

Death Cherub

Anyone remember the Playstation game Parasite Eve? This was an enemy from the end of the game. The main enemy really. Well, the offspring of the main enemy. Anyways, was looking online for ideas on what to draw, and I decided to Google Parasite Eve. As soon as I saw some images of this guy I knew I had to try and draw him. He’s kind of adorable, actually.

Annoying Internet Problems: Day 66

EyeGuy Complete

My god did I have some annoying Internet problems today. I hope I can switch my ISP before the end of the year. This is getting really frustrating. My speeds slow down to ridiculously low levels at seemingly random times of the day. Usually it’s fine, and it has been for the most part for a couple years now, but the last month or so it’s been slowing down.

Anyways, hope all my fellow Canadians had a terrific Thanksgiving. I had a couple fantastic meals this weekend. I really want to thank everyone that was involved, and all my family that I spent time with. I will cherish the leftovers for days!

Finished up my eyeball dude with my nieces today. They gave me a lot of inspiration on what direction to go in. He ended up looking quite silly. However, I like him. Not as creepy as I was hoping for, but there’s always tomorrow!

Blank Stare: Day 64

Freak Complete

He’s all finished. My second Halloween inspired drawing is complete. I really had to resist the urge to color in some pupils for this guy. But I’m so glad that I didn’t, as I think his empty pale yellow eyes look really good the way they are.

Well, that’s about it from me today. It’s going to be a relaxing Saturday. I have nothing to do but watch a hockey game tonight (maybe two!) and I’m totally okay with having so little else to do. Maybe watch some Netflix (I need to start a new series) and cook up some dinner shortly. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Pale Yellow: Day 63

Freak

Happy Friday, everyone. Nothing too fancy for today’s drawing as I was away from my home when I did this one. This image will probably end up more cartoony than creepy as that’s what tends to happen with my stuff. That’s what I’m assuming anyways. I’m not sure if I’m going to do any more pen on this one though. I want to try something different so I’m going to try and fill the rest in with grey’s and blacks and the eyes are probably going to be a pale yellow. So not very colorful! I might change my mind though when tomorrow comes.

I’ve been chatting a lot with my friends and family about horror style movies. A lot of the conversations have been about what we grew up with, and what their kids are growing up with now. I remember growing up watching things like Nightmare on Elmstreet and Child’s Play. I was only like 7 or 8 maybe when I watched Child’s Play. I loved that movie, for some reason. I grew up later avoiding scary doll movies though. So not sure what happened there.

So, not just sticking with a horror theme, what movies did you grow up with? Is there just one that sticks in your memory? Maybe something you haven’t seen since, or ended up hating later on in life maybe. Steven King’s Maximum Overdrive and the aforementioned Child’s Play are a couple of mine.

Dat Tentacle: Day 62

Tentacle!

I totally categorized this image under “character”. Anyways, good evening! I drew a tentacle! Welcome to the first of (hopefully) many creepy Halloween-esque drawings. Sounded like a fun idea, so I’m going for it. Hmmm… tentacles are creepy right? Well, just think of that one scene from the movie “The Mist”.

I really like how this turned out. I’m noticing a few things (as usual) that are bugging me that I could go back and change, but I’ll leave it. It’s done. I think my absolutely favorite part about this drawing is the color. The blue on pink, in my opinion, looks fantastic.

So, I’ll throw out an easy question today. What’s your favorite color? Is there any reason it’s your favorite? Even though I didn’t use any in this picture, green is definitely my favorite color. I wonder, does everyone have a favorite color? It’s something my nieces have always asked me. You pick one as a kid, and stick with it forever. Right?
