Chupon Typhoon: Day 43

Chupon

Happy Saturday everyone. Was a pretty great day today. Warm weather with not a whole lot to do. Just relaxed with a buddy for most of the day. Went for a nice walk earlier in the afternoon. Might be one of the last really warm days this year. We’ll see though.

Not sure why I decided to draw Final Fantasy VI’s Chupon/Typhoon character. I think I just wanted to do something creepy. Like a monster or something. Sketched a few things that didn’t turn out so great, then I thought of Chupon. I looked up a picture to get the details right. Then tossed that sketch away and just drew him all over again. This time in my own style just going by memory. Turned out much better!

Yoshitaka Amano’s style is pretty difficult to replicate as his brush strokes look so random and all over the place! He has an absolutely insane amount of detail in all of his pieces. It’s amazing actually. My version of this guy looks better than what I was trying to do before.

Hail Hydra: Day 41

Hydra-ish

Hello, people. Welcome to day number 41. A much more productive day than yesterday. I was very hungover (so very nauseous) yesterday, so I didn’t feel like doing anything at all. However, I got a love seat that comes apart into two reclining chairs, and today I spent a bunch of time setting all of it up. I even have a nice spot to do my drawings now!

I was playing Diablo III: Reaper of Souls on my PS3 today when I got an idea to draw something involving a skull. I was thinking of creating a creature of sorts at first, but then the idea clicked; Hydra. Hydra is an evil organization from the Captain America book and move series. I really like the symbol they use, but I didn’t want to just find a picture of it and copy it, so I came up with something unique. I think it turned out pretty good. I want to color it all red though, but I’ve used up all of  paper I had before. Now I’m just using the other sketch pad I had to start with. Colors don’t work so well on this paper I’m using. So I need to go out sometime and buy some better paper.

Anyways, that’s all for today. It’s really bugging me that I can’t use colors right now (well, I still have my digital stuff, of course) until I buy some better paper. So I’ll have to do that soon!

Slides Continued: Day 40

Somehow I got my “Day 40” mixed up. Originally I had it set to yesterday, but after I posted my daily drawing I noticed that I didn’t have a “Day 39”, so now today is officially the 40th day of my creative habit. Which is quite fitting as this is the last of my slides from the project I was working on.

I’m just going to keep this short, as I’m feeling under the weather today. The following is the second half of the slides I created!

Fish Tank: Day 39

Day 39

I’m unexpectedly not at home today. So I decided to doodle from the large fish tank sitting in front of me. I think it turned out pretty great. Something different than what I normally do, that’s for sure.

I’ll get right back to posting my slides tomorrow. I kind of got whisked away from my place today. Having a few drinks. Enjoying myself. Hope everyone is having a fantastic Tuesday!

Slides: Day 38

Alright, well… here we are. Slides are emailed away. Everything is complete. Everything should be completely out of my hands. What a relief! I’m so happy with how all of it turned out (Well, except for one little thing that’s going to always bug me! I didn’t add the hair shine to one of the Adorable Kathy’s 😛 lame!). Kathy seems to really love all the slides as well. Which was my number one goal all along. So… mission accomplished. Now it’s time to relax for awhile.

Today’s post is going to be part one of the entire project. The following is going to be the first 10 slides, and then tomorrow I’ll finish it up. Enjoy! And let me know what you think in the comments.

All the Hard Work Behind me: Day 37

Balloon Credits Math Idea Math

I got so much done today! And there’s still so many little tiny things that I could still touch up. Just in these four images alone. Overall, I’m happy with everything though! That’s 19 unique slides. The final “credits” one will show for the final 30 seconds. My reasoning is because I’m not sure when she’ll finish her presentation. Last time we timed it at about 4:30 but she told me she would like to stretch it out a bit.

Tomorrow I can hopefully meet with Kathy and we can go over everything in full. Re-time everything to see where we’re at. And make some overall adjustments. However, I’m almost positive I’m done with all the hard work. A couple days before everything is due! I’m pretty happy with myself. Proud even.

What a crazy experience this has been. I’ll go into my feelings on everything in my final post Monday or Tuesday when I show all the slides and how they match up with what she’s saying. Then on Wednesday I guess I’ll hear about how everything went and I’ll post about that. Until tomorrow then…
