Blue Planet: Day 351

New Blue Planet by Robert Chapman

Before starting another epic project, I find it’s always a good idea to start fresh and spend some time messing around with some new projects that only take an afternoon to finish. Today, I decided to do another space scene. This one didn’t turn out as awesome as I was hoping, but I did things a little differently and just painted the whole thing free hand.

Usually there’s a lot of complicated steps involved when I start a new space scene, but today I decided to just take it easy and have some fun with it. When I take that into consideration, this actually turned out really well! I still used the circle marquee tool to make sure my planet was super spherical, but other than that, I just painted. Even the stars are just little illuminated dots that I placed there one at a time, rather than adding graininess to the entire background and adding detail from there.

I hope everyone’s having a fantastic Saturday. I’m going to get something to eat, maybe watch some Netflix or play some video games, and just take it easy. I wonder what I should make tomorrow…

Is this a water world? can see a starship zooming out of that sun’s light and into the front view 🙂 hope you’re having a good weekend

    • I was mostly thinking that it would be an icy gas giant, much like Neptune. But who’s to say that some advanced race isn’t able to build a civilization there?
