Hard modes in video games, do you jump to the highest difficulty on your first play through the game? I know some people that have done that. Personally, I play the game on normal for my first time through. However, if after beating it I feel that the game deserves more of my time, for one reason or another, then I’ll likely try a harder difficulty at that point. Honestly though, if trophies weren’t involved, I’m not sure I would bother more often than not. There’s just something about having proof attached to your account that you finished something.

Axiom Verge is The Best: Day 245
Happy Friday, peoples. Since I finished that chameleon yesterday, and that was all digital, I decided to start a new project on real paper! That’s right, pencils, pens, and an eraser (as you can see). My absolutely favorite game to play right now is Axiom Verge on Playstation 4. This game – and I’ve talked about this on here before – is a retro 8-bit/16-bit inspired side-scrolling adventure game. So, because I love it so gosh darn much, I decided to draw one of the alien characters, Elsenova.
Finished Chameleon: Day 244
It’s finally finished! I’m not sure if this chameleon has been the most time consuming project I’ve ever worked on, but it’s certainly up there in the ranks. In the end though, it’s not only one of my favorite pieces of artwork that I’ve made, but also one where I learned a lot more than I thought I was going to when I first decided to start making it.
Using SEO Tools: Day 243
I assumed that I was going to put a couple more hours into this guy today and get it all finished up, but that’s not at all what happened. I put an hour in, then took a break as I had some other things that needed to get done. I went right back at it after that and put another hour or so in, probably closer to two hours. Then Photoshop crashed on me. Which has only happened maybe once before in the past year or two. So I lost maybe 20 minutes of progress since I last saved. Lame!
Shape-Shifting Froggy Part 2: Day 242
As I sit here eating my chocolate bunny, I’m contemplating about where I’m going to be, and what I’m going to be doing, by the end of my first Year of Creative Habits. I’m always going back and forth on whether I should be asking, “Will I be able to make a living doing this someday?” or “When will it happen?” Of course, the second question is a much more positive answer, though I’m constantly living each day with a bit of a pain in my stomach from the stress. Of course, that’s also likely due to the chocolate bunny I just devoured.
