Today I did three Pomodoro’s! What does that mean? I’m not entirely sure, actually. I’m quite sure that’s something I just made up a moment ago. Though, “Pomodoro” is a real thing; a time management system. I’m just not entirely sure if I’m doing it right at this moment in time. This is my first day using this technique after all.
Now I feel that the scene is starting to really come together. I’m starting to think that I should of tried to paint Pluto in the background there, but I’m not going to redraw it. Not to mention that in the Star Wars universe, it’s obviously not set in our galaxy. I just think it would of been a bit timely to throw Pluto in there, and I wish I would of thought of it earlier on today.
You know those moments where you’re trying to do something awesome, and right when you get into the groove of things everything starts to break apart and – before you get super annoyed – you leave it alone and go do something else? Well, anyways, perhaps not everyone goes through things like that. I did today, however.
A whole lot of changes were made to this digital painting today! Removed some bits, added a lot more bits. Now it seems like everyday my Sorta Death Star takes on a whole new form. It’s definitely a piece that’s going to keep evolving it seems. Though I’m definitely satisfied with how it’s looking at the moment.
I’m not sure which I prefer, the red crystal thing, or the green curly things. Maybe neither, actually. I could just go with the big satellite dish-esque cannon by itself. What do you think? I’m really not sure how I feel about either of those at the moment.
You know, if I planned today’s image from the start and spent a lot of time researching shadows, ship design, and maybe looked over the actual Death Star from Star Wars, then maybe I could actually paint a really high quality picture. That all being said, I’m quite happy with how this is turning out, when you consider the fact that I kind of just jumped into it with zero planning.
Just like the majority of my drawings, the vision for what this was going to become changed dramatically a couple times. Usually I start out with a vague idea of what I want to draw, then it kind of shifts into something else entirely as I go along. This was literally supposed to be a moon…
