Super Lonely: Day 329

NMS Walker by Robert Chapman

Is it just me, or does this No Man’s Sky sentinel seem very lonely? I mean, maybe it’s just what I’m currently listening to. Try throwing this track on in the background, and then come back and look at this picture. Done? Okay, now you can’t convince me that he’s not super lonely and he’s just out looking for a friend to help give him some meaning to his existence. Perhaps I’ll give him a friend. I’m nice like that.

So, hello there! Welcome to day 329 of my Creative Habit. Unless my maths are incorrect, I have 35 days left before I’m all finished. Then I’ll be moving onto a new and bigger project! One that will surely either build me a career, or lead me towards whatever I should be doing next in my life. Having a career as an artist is my goal no matter what path I take to get there. I feel it’s only a matter of time.

I’ve already got the dedication part down when it comes to achieving my goals, and I’ve proven to myself that if I spend enough time with something, I can do just about anything when it comes to digital artwork. I’m certainly not over confident when it comes to my abilities, it’s just that I’ve done 329 days of art projects (large and small) and not once have I given up on something because I couldn’t pull it off. I feel that I’ve challenged myself repeatedly by consistently trying to do things I’ve never tried before, and so far I’ve succeeded.

Today, for example, I’ve been having a difficult time trying to figure out exactly how I should approach making this orange grass in today’s image. It wasn’t easy! And I’m not even fully satisfied with how it’s turning out so far. With the Internet at my disposal, I already know that there will absolutely be a wealth of information and creative ideas from other fellow artists on how to create the exact grassy bits that I’m trying to make. I’ll absorb the information I find, put it into practice, and integrate it into the techniques and tools I already use.

I have assimilated, if you will, so many techniques and advice since I began this year long journey that I forget where exactly I learned it all. I’m pretty sure this hasn’t happened yet (because I’m assuming they would reach out to me) but I hope an artist goes through my posts someday and uses some of the things I’ve talked about to help further their own creativity. That would be pretty sweet! 🙂

Happy Friday.
