Day 67

Blue blue blue!

What a crazy windy day it was. I took a bunch of pictures today that had a lot of nature in there, and everything turned out super blurry because of the wind. I did however, get a few moon pictures that I could use today. The moon wasn’t super huge or anything, so it was extremely hard to shoot and actually get any detail. However, I think I did. It looks pretty cool 🙂

It’s nice every once in awhile to keep things relatively simple. Compared to my previous pictures, today’s is definitely simple in nature! Often I try a bit too hard to one-up my previous day, and so I try to make sure I give myself some time to re-adjust and have a little bit of a restart.

I wonder what I’ll find tomorrow 🙂

Day 66

Dark trees and chrome skies 🙂

I’ve said this before I’m pretty sure, but I am absolutely so excited for the nice weather to show up already. Today was decent, but windy with a chance of rain. I just want an entire day to be beautiful so I can spend the afternoon/evening outside taking a ton of pictures of everything and everywhere.

There are a lot of spots in town here that I’ve wanted to capture in some photos, but they’re a little ways away so I haven’t done it yet. It’s also barely March, so I’ve only just begun this project really.

Day 65

So here’s an abandoned school I found…

I’m not trying to incriminate myself if for some unknown reason this actually happens over the next little while, but I would love to actually get in there and take pictures. I’m sure it’s even creepier on the inside! Alas, obviously that would be illegal and possibly dangerous.

It would be a lot of extra work for me, and I really don’t feel too confident that I could pull this off, but I would love to just find a whole lot of creepy and unsettling imagery in general to take pictures of. There’s just something incredibly interesting about getting particular emotions out of a simple image.

What do you think? I’m sure I’ll try to do that come October this year!

Day 64

Today… was a little bit of a cheat day for me. I took my camera with me when I went out, but I had dinner plans. I walked around in the cold a bit after dark and didn’t find anything worth taking pictures of. It was just too cold, and I was super tired after an awesome evening. I always have lots of photos in reserve that I haven’t really shown anyone yet, and I decided to use one today.

This image is interesting because it’s aligned at the top, and the branches reach down at different lengths. All I keep thinking about is how much I’d love to draw something like this, digitally. I think it could make for a neat pattern!

Day 63

Howdy!

I hope you’re having a decent Saturday. Mine has been pretty uneventful, but … sometimes that’s an acceptable thing! I’m feeling content right now. I got to go out in the sunshine without worry, and take some photographs around my city. Despite the cold, the sun warmed my face and hands and taking photos was a pleasant experience today. Where most days where it’s been cold this year, I’ve kind of felt rushed and I wouldn’t always end up with decent photos at the end of the day. Decent by my standards, at least.

I had quite a few to choose from today, as far as those photos go, and I ended up choosing this one. I like the contrast between the light blue/white, and the dark branches of the tree. Everything feels like it has a nice balance. I had a couple photos today where you could see more of the detail in everything, and more of the tree in general, but that felt kind of “regular”, boring even, if you will.

I think I’ve taken so many pictures of trees this year that I often look at my photos and think “Oh well that’s pretty same old same old.” I want to find shots of new and interesting things that I feel comfortable sharing with people. Today’s photo doesn’t exactly do anything new or unique at first glance, but I think it would make a cool picture on someone’s wall. Maybe with an interesting pattern around it, and a nice frame.

Day 62

Happy Friday!

I’m still participating in that #MarchMeetTheMaker challenge/project, but I’m keeping it on Instagram right now. The photos that I’m taking for that project aren’t necessarily going to be my daily photos for my Year of Creative Habit stuff. It gets too complicated if I have a cool photo, but it’s not relate to the topic of the day. Here’s my Instagram profile, and that’s where I’ll be keeping the Meet the Maker stuff. So go check that out if you want to learn about me! Today I shared my workspace 🙂

Day 61

Yesterday I started a bit of a mini-project for the month of March, called “Meet the Maker“. I’ve already noticed that a bunch of people are doing it, and even though we’re only a single day in, it’s really cool reading a little about these artists that I follow. That’s going to be 31 days of posts about the artists involved in this project, all following a specific theme for the day. Pretty cool 🙂

Today’s theme is “Favourite to Make”
