Final Fantasy VII Pattern Complete : Day 316

Final Fantasy 7 pattern complete by Robert Chapman

It’s not all too often that I finish a piece of artwork and when I look at it as a whole completed image, I’m a little bit in awe. It’s a strange feeling because I obviously made the thing! It’s pretty amazing that you can pour hours into a project and then once it’s done you can really look it over and appreciate it.

I found this project quite challenging to keep the various portions of the image separate from one another. Take Cloud’s legs for instance, there are some pretty dark spots, and with the darkness of the city behind it, I had a heck of a time keeping it all balanced. If I didn’t spend so much time doing that then you wouldn’t be able to clearly see where his legs are. I still don’t think everything in this image is perfectly definable, as there are a few places where the colors aren’t quite perfect. But I’m going to go ahead and leave the nitpicking behind and just say that this turned out pretty fantastic.

What’s next? I have no idea. I mean, I did pick out another image for me to try and “patternize”, but I’m not sure if I’m ready to take on another huge project. Perhaps I’ll try something different with this one! We’ll see how I feel tomorrow.

Thanks for checking this out. As I get closer to finishing my year long art project of posting my artwork every single day, my posts tend to be getting shorter. I think I’ve talked about everything there is to talk about as far as talking about how I feel and how I work. All that’s left is to talk about the individual pieces of artwork I upload. I’m sure there’s still bits of info about my process, and what inspires me, that I can share. So we’ll just have to keep it up. Less than 50 days to go!
