Even though the quality of my camera isn’t all that great, I can recognize that once in awhile I still end up with a decent picture! A little editing can go a long ways to making a murky lifeless picture gain a little vibrancy. You can’t even tell that I was soaked from the rain and couldn’t see clearly since my glasses were in my pocket.

I still can’t get over just how much I’m beginning to notice how devoid of color everything is out there this time of year. Even from high up on a 5th floor balcony it was difficult to spot anything really worth taking a picture of. The fact that lately I’ve been quite focused on finding color (and mostly failing) is interesting to me though.

Ever since I started this project, t’s been so difficult to find any real natural color in the world. It’s still bitter cold, and everything is dead. I bet when I look at 365 days worth of photos, all on a grid together, you’ll be able to see some patterns. It’ll start out with a whole lot of greyish colors, and then hopefully when spring properly hits we’ll start seeing – not only more blue skies – but some actual freakin’ color around here!

I had a little bit of trouble finding a decent shot today. I took pictures of a bunch of different things; some barbed wire fences, a field with the sun barely shining through the clouds for a moment, and a big blue brick wall with the paint peeling off. These were just some of the things that stood out to me on my walk. However, once again it was just so cold I could only stand there for a moment and snap a couple quick pictures of each of these locations before my fingers felt like they were going to fall right off.

Happy Friday!
It’s something like -24C with wind chill (-11F) outside right now. It was brutal being out there, and I couldn’t take this photo fast enough! My fingers were hurting just taking three pictures in this spot. Afterwards, I rushed right back inside.
Who’s idea was it to start this project in the winter time!? I should of just started it in April or May and did like a 200 day challenge or something instead! Too late now! Maybe for this weekend I’ll draw some stuff on paper and take some pictures of those. I also just now realized that I’ll have two winters to deal with…

It’s been another incredibly chilly day, and I didn’t spend nearly as much time finding a good picture as I would have liked. It’s just too damn cold out there! Not to mention that I’m just not happy with the camera I have currently. This thing is definitely good enough for what I’m doing right now, but I need that new tech!
I’m really looking forward to eventually picking up that new camera. I feel there’s going to be something really special about having a whole lot of options at my disposal. Especially for night photography! It’ll be real nice to pick a nice day and spend most of it outside taking pictures 🙂

Howdy there. Yesterday was a bit rainy, and today was just downright cold. What a terrible day to be outside, and I don’t think I’ll ever go out again. Yeah, that’s actually a fantastic idea, eh? I’m just going to stay in forever, where it’s safe and warm.
That being said, while I was out doing some window shopping for a new camera I happened across this odd expanse of reeds. Right in the middle of my city. It’s possible that it’s always been there, I just wouldn’t have really noticed it until now. You know, now that I have to find 365 things to photograph, one every day. Now I’m always taking advantage of where I am as the day goes on, and what interesting scenery bits I come across that I can capture in a photo.
