Title-less: Day 276

Ukulele Mario by Robert Chapman

I only had maybe 20 minutes to do my drawing today, so I decided to get started on some Ukulele Mario edits. Some were suggested by my cousin, Eric. The guy that originally asked for the design. I really just wanted to create a scene for Mario to be in. As I mentioned yesterday, I like the idea of Mario being on stage moments away from playing a tune.

Okay, that’s it for me today! This is two days of slacking in a row. I’ll have to make sure I set aside a few hours to work on this tomorrow.

Ukulele Mario: Day 274

Ukulele Mario by Robert Chapman

Well, here’s Ukulele Mario. This image is 2000 x 2000 but Mario’s a bit smaller, and right in the center of the page. I feel the white space emphasizes that he’s on a stage of some sort. Bright lights, and all that. Perhaps not literal lights, but that was feel I wanted to present. So this image might be a moment before he reaches back for his Ukulele and entertains a crowd by flawlessly playing Imagine by John Lennon.

Sunny Beach Complete (I think): Day 273

SunnyBeach by Robert Chapman

I had originally planned to add a couple of tree branches looming over the left and right side of this sunny beach picture, but I couldn’t get anything to look quite right. So I opted to just leave this picture be, and get started on writing today’s post. Every time I sit down to write something, I see something new I want to change, edit, or add to this picture. That would be by, according to the post title, I’m not entirely sure if I’m done working on it.

Sunny Beach: Day 272

Sunny Beach by Robert Chapman

This is one of the first pictures I’ve done (at least in a very long time) that has elicited some kind of emotional response from me. I mean, when it comes to looking at other artist’s work, I often have an emotional reaction, but from my own work though? Hardly ever. Today though – as soon as I added the sun in there – I really got a sunny beach vibe. You know, the sounds of nature, hot sand, cool breeze, sun burns…

Bubble City Complete: Day 271

BubbleCity by Robert Chapman

Now this is what I’m talking about, I’m so happy with how this Bubble City is turning out. I mean, I’m completely finished with this picture, but I want to get started on a new one right away. Yesterday’s picture had a more sunny day-time beach feel to it, where I was originally trying to go for an alien planet feel. So for my next one I think I’m going to attempt an actual Earth beach look.

Art Contest: Day 270

BubbleCity by Robert Chapman

Well, this is turning out kind of awesome, eh?. It’s not exactly the way I want it yet, and so I’m still going to be working on this for at least the next day. There’s still a whole lot more I want to add, and by the time it’s done it should have a lot more detail. That being said, there is such a thing as too much detail. Maybe keeping it relatively simple and colorful is the way to go. That’s something I’ll have to think about more.

Death Star: Day 269

Death Star by Robert Chapman

If I was ever going to Photoshop the Death Star into any of my drawings, I guess today is the day to do it. I’ve seen so many “May the fourth be with you” posts today that I’m personally a bit tired of it, but seeing as I didn’t really have any drawing plans set out for today, the idea kind of snuck up on me and here we are. There’s a Death Star in my Photoshopness.
