Conspiracy Theories: Day 57

Space Window

Just a really quick update today. I have some company over today. I started a pretty cool drawing. I’m going to definitely finish this tomorrow, as I really like where it’s going!

I’ve been hanging out at home today as it was quite rainy and miserable outside for most of the afternoon. Playing a few videogames and watching some TV episodes of various shows. Having some deep conspiracy theories with a buddy. Which is what we normally do when we hang out.

I’m not really sure if these circles are planets, but it definitely does look like a window into space! So I’m going with that. Maybe I’ll add some rings or something, if possible, tomorrow.

NHL Incoming: Day 56

Haven

I’m still testing out these colored pencils today. Not a fan of using the black pencil instead of the pens I’ve been using lately. I still outlined some things in pen though. Filling in with the black colored pencil though, not going to be doing that again. Ugh.

Might finish this picture up tomorrow, even though I don’t like the black. But at the same time I want to move on to something else. I really like the random shapes at the bottom though!

Not a lot going on lately. It’s been a boring week. Hockey tonight though! Then the NHL season officially starts in approximately a week. Super excited! As I always am when hockey season comes around.

Bleeding Through: Day 55

Testing

Hello. Didn’t finish today’s work as I wasn’t all that fond of the way my new pens were operating. The ink was spreading out from where I started to color and was bleeding right through the paper. More of a marker than a felt tipped pen. Just thought I’d give it at try. Was only a few bucks anyways. Next time, I’ll stick with either pens, or try out the black pencil in the new colored pencil set I got today. I’m quite excited about these pencils. Even though I only used a few colors today, they went on really smoothly. Excited about trying them again tomorrow.

I also bought a proper pencil sharpener as the one I’ve been using was falling apart and was insistent on breaking all my pencils. It works great. The ruler I also bought came in handy today. I’ll probably use it again tomorrow.

Gloomy: Day 53

Waves

I spent a few hours on this today and I decided to leave the rest of it until tomorrow. We’ll see what it turns into. I wanted a wave like shape and lots of blue and green throughout. I’m sure I’ll have some other colors in there as well.

I decided to leave it for now because it was taking so long to complete. I’m starting to get hungry and it’s already 6pm! I plan to finish it, however I really should take a break from the time consuming stuff and do a whole bunch of simpler drawings for a week or something. I’ve noticed that I start seriously thinking about one-upping my previous work each time I sit down to draw. Can’t be doing that. It’ll be way too much work and I start to stress a little about it.

So tomorrow I’ll likely be finishing up this piece. After that I’d like to just do some 30 minutes cartoon sketches or something to keep things simple and easy. For now though, I’m off to cook!

Another thing I noticed is that today my camera didn’t really capture the image too well. It’s a gloomy rainy day. So it will likely be difficult to take decent pictures this winter. We’ll see. Maybe during this winter I can stick to a lot more digital work.

Carving Shapes: Day 46

Early Emergence

I kinda surprised myself. I was just trying to figure out what I wanted to draw for my daily drawing. Then decided to go with something on Photoshop as I was already using it today. Then this kinda happened. The detail is awesome!

I was just drawing some blackness, then carving it out with the eraser into shapes. They kind of looked like arms so I kept drawing different things. I then made the decision that the blackness up top was the ground. Yuppers, ground on the top of the page there. So it’s now going to be dirt and we’re going to have lots of things reaching out of it! Should be awesome. I dunno, we’ll see what happens!

I’ll keep working on it over the next few days or so. It’s going to turn out to be a Halloween inspired piece. Pretty cool. You’ll definitely need to click for the full sized image to really see what’s going on.

Halloween Postcard Collage: Day 45

Halloween Compilation

A good friend asked me to help her create some Halloween cards the other day. She offered up some examples from some older drawings I did and I went ahead and did some editing to add some nice colors. They turned out excellent, but I switched one of her suggestions out for a newer demon guy I did a couple weeks back. I think he fits a little better. The other guy was pretty goofy.

I threw them all together in a collage today and I think they look quite smashing! The colors go together pretty well, with the yellow maybe being the only one I might change. Perhaps to orange. We’ll see what she says when she has time to check it out. She might even want the older drawing back in there instead of the demon guy. We’ll see.

All the Hard Work Behind me: Day 37

Balloon Credits Math Idea Math

I got so much done today! And there’s still so many little tiny things that I could still touch up. Just in these four images alone. Overall, I’m happy with everything though! That’s 19 unique slides. The final “credits” one will show for the final 30 seconds. My reasoning is because I’m not sure when she’ll finish her presentation. Last time we timed it at about 4:30 but she told me she would like to stretch it out a bit.

Tomorrow I can hopefully meet with Kathy and we can go over everything in full. Re-time everything to see where we’re at. And make some overall adjustments. However, I’m almost positive I’m done with all the hard work. A couple days before everything is due! I’m pretty happy with myself. Proud even.

What a crazy experience this has been. I’ll go into my feelings on everything in my final post Monday or Tuesday when I show all the slides and how they match up with what she’s saying. Then on Wednesday I guess I’ll hear about how everything went and I’ll post about that. Until tomorrow then…
