This isn’t finished yet, but so far it’s looking pretty great. I think so, at least! I took the planet I made the day before yesterday (and used in yesterday’s image), and re-painted it in Photoshop with some new yellow storm clouds, and a completely new color scheme. There’s lots of new details, actually. I kind of went over the entire thing.
Marble Captured: Day 357
Well, I guess I found out what to do with that planet I made yesterday, eh? I’m definitely getting a comic book feeling from this image, and I think it would fit right at home on the front of my No Man’s Sky inspired web comic thingamajig that I’ll be working on very soon. Maybe this is how Emily is forced to leave her planet in the beginning. Sent away by her parents, Superman style. From then on she has to fend for herself with just her ship and her Databot companion!
Blue Marble: Day 356
Here I am, drawing planets again. This time I spent a few hours doing very small individual details with the Photoshop mixer brush tool, and it certainly paid off. I think I need some larger details though. I find that real photos of planets tend to depict the planets in our solar system with huge sweeping storms and terrifying landscapes. Though the planet I drew today is meant to be alien in nature, so it could look like anything really, I still think it needs a huge landmark feature. I think doing an “eye” like our Jupiter’s is a little too obvious. What do you think? Let me know in the comments
That’s it from me today! I short but sweet post. It’s been a lazy day for me and so I haven’t got a whole lot to talk about right now. However, there’s just 9 more days remaining before my Year of Creative Habits is complete! Thanks for checking this out. Thumbs up to you! 😀
Amber: Day 355
Mountains Completed: Day 354
These mountains certainly didn’t take all that long to finish, eh? I painted this in Photoshop in about 4 hours, if I were to toss out a guess. Not too shabby! This probably would of been something that took me more than a few days to finish maybe just a few months or so ago. Now, I’m whole heck of a lot more proficient when it comes to using the various tools, filters, and boy do I love that mixer brush. I’ve been using that brush for years now, but it’s just so good at blending colors together to achieve specific effects. It’s my go-to digital painting tool.
Mountains: Day 353
Happy Monday! This is the second last Monday of my Year of Creative Habits project. By Sunday after the next I’ll be all finished, and this website will stay at exactly 365 posts from then on. Someday I would really like to put a book together filled with all of my daily blog posts from the past year, as well as various finished pieces of artwork from that time. I’m not sure if this website will be around forever, and so I would like to have something to show for it. Even if it’s just an electronic book I can share with my friends and family, or whomever is interested in having one, of course.
Emily: Day 352
I figure before my Year of Creative Habits is behind me (which happens in less than two weeks!), I should do what I said I would do a little while back; start trying to draw some people! This is my youngest niece, Emily. She’s a few years older than this now, but I found this picture in a Facebook album and right away I knew had to draw it. It looks so celebratory. This must of been the best day ever.
