Ideas From my Brain – Castlevania: Day 213

Painted Nintendo title screen

Besides touching up a few spots with some detail, and a gray line at the bottom, I have just a bit of text left to do before I’m finished my first NES title screen! Despite being asked in a comment the other day to do Super Mario Bros. 3 next, I think I’m going to start on Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest. I’m just thinking about this now, so I could very well change my mind by tomorrow. We’ll see…

I assume I’ll be finished with this tomorrow, I still would like to add some border effects. I tried explaining the effect I want to go for to a buddy earlier today, and I just did not do a good job getting my idea across. That could very well be because the idea is a terrible one. I’m not sure, I just know I have an image in my head that I need to try. Tomorrow is going to be an awesome day!

I have some fantastic ideas for t-shirts to sell on RedBubble as well. Again, they’re mostly hard to explain, and I have to keep writing the ideas down as best as I can so I don’t forget. For example, there’s one where I could put like 20 title screens together, on an angle, and kind of have a slight paint splatter effect across the chest of a shirt. Or, perhaps it’s more of a paint swipe than a splatter. See? Tough to explain. I think so anyways.

Here, I just messed around in Photoshop and threw this together to help explain. It’s messy because I used the touch pad on my laptop to do it! This is only six title screens, but it’s a decent idea of what’s in my head. There sure were a lot of title screens with black backgrounds, which in this case helps all of these go together.
