Retro Gaming: Day 232

Painted Chameleon by Robert Chapman

I decided to spend a couple hours on my colorful Chameleon today. I think he just keeps getting better and better as I go along, and I’m excited to see how he looks when he’s all finished. It certainly pays to take your time and flesh out all the smallest details. Quality and quantity!

As I sit here watching my 8 year of niece play some classic NES games like Paper Boy, A Boy and His Blob, and Spy Vs. Spy, I wonder what video games are going to be like when she’s my age. Will more recent games ever be considered retro gaming? Or will that always be something attached to video games from the 80’s and 90’s?

With the virtual reality craze (fad?) right around the corner, and things I probably can’t even imagine coming up after that, gaming is probably going to be pretty nuts within 5-10 years. I strongly believe that there are going to be some pretty massive technology jumps in the near future. I’m sure within 10 years we’ll be interacting with our virtual experiences a lot different than we are today.

Seeing as it’s Saturday, and I have some things going on today, this is just a quick post from me today. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
