Year of Creative Habits 2017 – 4/365

Day 4

Howdy there. Yesterday was a bit rainy, and today was just downright cold. What a terrible day to be outside, and I don’t think I’ll ever go out again. Yeah, that’s actually a fantastic idea, eh? I’m just going to stay in forever, where it’s safe and warm.

That being said, while I was out doing some window shopping for a new camera I happened across this odd expanse of reeds. Right in the middle of my city. It’s possible that it’s always been there, I just wouldn’t have really noticed it until now. You know, now that I have to find 365 things to photograph, one every day. Now I’m always taking advantage of where I am as the day goes on, and what interesting scenery bits I come across that I can capture in a photo.

Day 3

Happy Tuesday! Geez, I actually had to double check after I wrote that to make sure it’s actually a Tuesday.

I feel that my photo is kind of boring today, but that’s just what kind of day we’re having over here; dark, foggy, and wet. But I figure if I’m going to be doing this every single day, there’s going to be some not so special days in there for sure. That all being said, I bet this picture is a little more interesting to people that don’t see this view everyday. And even on the darkest days I should be able to find something interesting worth photographing.

Plus, new camera soon!

If you’d like to see some different versions of the photos I’ve been taking, follow me on Instagram! They also go up automagically on my Pinterest if you’d rather check that out. Thanks!

Day 2

Hello there. Happy Monday, everyone 😉

This here’s a weird tree across the street from where I live. I take notice of it every time I go by it, and so as I was walking away from my apartment this afternoon I realized I didn’t have far to go for my next shot. I wanted to get the whole tree in frame though, but the camera I have still sucks, so I couldn’t go too far away from it unless I was okay with losing bark detail. Where I took this picture from I was already just about on the road, so this was the best picture of the few that I took.

YOCH Day 1

Welcome to my Year of Creative Habits for 2017! This is the first day of 365 in a row, where I’ll be posting yet another image (and writing about it!) every single day throughout 2017. Last time was all about my artwork and getting a running start as I decided to become a full-time artist, this time it’s focused on photography. As you can see though, I’m still going to include a little bit of artwork into each photograph. On every image this year I’m going to draw a little cartoon character 🙂

Gearing Up For Something New

OddScenery1

Hello, everyone!

We’re coming to the end of 2016, and it’s been a bit of a weird year, eh? I mean, I personally don’t have a whole lot of negativity towards 2016 like I know a lot of you do (I see the memes on Twitter pretty much daily), but there have been some big memorable moments in general, and I’d like to briefly go over a few, if I may. Not to mention also talk about what’s coming in 2017.

Mad World

ElfLuteRosa

No matter what version of the song you end up listening to, Mad World is my favorite song. Tears for Fears originally released the song in 1982, and though that version is fine and all, it was the Gary Jules version at the end of the movie, “Donnie Darko” that I became mostly attached to over the years. There’s just something haunting about the song, and I’m writing about it today because I have some thoughts to sort through about it. There’s a link below to a beautiful version of the song, and I want to find a way to turn Mad World into something visual.

I want to paint the music, I guess.

Our Universe Is A Crazy Place

FFVII Art

I often wonder what’s really going on around here. You know? Like, is the universe a big ‘ol pointless mouse maze (Potentially with cheese… somewhere?) for us sentient beings to fumble around in, all the while there’s billions of relatively distant black-holes, pulsars, and supernovae obliterating everything for trillions of miles in every direction.

As Humans, we’re just over here mostly stranded on a tiny piece of rock in a vast ocean of stars and darkness.

We’re doing stuff and things though…

Everyone has the same questions as I do, right? “Why is any of this happening?”
