Year of Creative Habits 2017 – 34/365

Day 34

Compared to yesterday’s photo, I think this one fails a bit in comparison. Sure, there are some interesting bits here and there, but I don’t think it’s a very inspired angle. Personally, I like the images that are taken from odd angles. You don’t really consciously realize it, but angles like this are rather plain because they’re taken from regular old eye level.

My favorite thing to do during this project is to hold my camera/tablet in odd ways to take my pictures. Obviously, the best example of this is when I take those upside-down shots of trees. However, I also enjoy the ones where I place the camera on the ground and snap from there. I’m sure that will be much easier when I can an actual camera, rather than a tablet. Sometimes it’s pretty awkward to take pictures with this thing.

There have been days this year where I’ve been expecting to get that new camera right around the corner. The further I get into this project, using the camera I currently have, the more distant the idea of a new camera gets. I’m making due. I could go all year with this thing, I’m sure. The biggest feature I’m missing besides a general overall quality boost, would be the opportunity to take photographs at night, or even just take shots during darker hours of the day. Is that worth $300 for me?

I think so, but I’m not as positive about the whole thing as I was at the start. I’m just getting into a routine, I think.

I like this one. I like the sun filtering through the trees. I have to say though I do enjoy the oddly angled photos. I know it keeps getting prolonged but I’m certain once you get a decent camera you’ll realize just what you’ve been missing out on. Keep up the awesome work!

    • Thank you so much! It’s been a bit of a slog playing the “wait and see” game with the new camera stuff. It gets quietly frustrating. I’m sure you’re right though, I’ll appreciate it when I have it. It just doesn’t feel like it’s meant to be yet.

It’ll come, and it’ll be exactly what you’re looking for. The longer it takes just means the more you’ll appreciate it when it gets here
