First Nation Style: Day 26

Indian turtle drawing photograph

It was suggested to me last night to try my hand at drawing some first nation style art. At first I was worried that it might be inappropriate. I definitely didn’t want to commit any cultural appropriation or anything. I’m not of native decent. However, after doing some research and seeing the different types of first nation style art that was out there, I had to try my hand at it. At the very least to show appreciation for this wonderful style. Also, I love turtles.

I think it turned out perfectly. It looks way better, as usual, in real life on paper than it does in this photograph. I don’t think I could have done a better job.

In the native myths they say the land is actually a giant turtle and there’s a saying of turtles all the way down as people question of what keeps the turtle afloat or whatever lol I’ve heard this before
