Day 38

Raaaaain! It wasn’t a good day at all to go out and take photographs. Of course, I went out anyways and took a few, but they aren’t anything memorable and certainly aren’t all that interesting in general. That all being said, this project is mainly all about going out and doing the work. Taking photos even when it’s not what I feel like doing that day. At least the little creature stamp in the corner is kinda neat 🙂

My camera shipped today. I got the email about an hour ago and there wasn’t any tracking information or arrival dates at the time, but I’ll check it a couple more times today to see if I can nail down a proper date for when I think it’ll show up. I’m nervous, but also excited. Anxious. I hate waiting for things after I’ve paid for them, but it’s also exciting because it’s like you’re waiting for Christmas. It’s maybe a week away and then you’ll get to open it up and look inside.

Day 37

I’m not quite sure what it is exactly, but this image reminds me of a classic Final Fantasy creature. It just has that “alive” feel. Like I took this photo moments before being completely devoured in a single gulp!

Okay, with that monster silliness out of the way, take a look at THIS camera here. I just ordered it today. It should arrive sometime after the 17th of this month, so that’s gonna be more than 10 days from right now. If all goes as planned, and it finds it’s way to me safely, I’ll have a brand new digital camera to use for my daily photos and beyond. I still need to figure out my memory card situation (I have a couple things planned right now), but I’m not worried 🙂

Day 36

Hey! It’s a doggy. My sister’s doggy (one of two), and her name is Faith. She used to be super annoying when she’d constantly try to jump up on me, but honestly… the past couple months she’s been super good. The fact that she held still for a good 2 seconds while I took this photo before running off and going nuts, shows me that she’s taking her time a little bit more than she used to. She’s good more often than not.

I feel like there’s something a bit off with the colors and/or the white level with this photo though. I’ve messed around with it for a bit, but I have to put this out there that I’m aware there’s something … off. It was a pretty dark and gloomy day today, and that definitely affects the overall quality of my photographs. I’m sure it’s something relating to that.

At any rate, I hope everyone is having a fun Superbowl Sunday. I don’t watch the Superbowl, but I hope everyone had their fun 🙂

Day 35

I really love the hard edged branches on this tree. It doesn’t quite look natural when you look at it up close and see that the individual branches are like little bolts of lightning. It’s pretty amazing what you notice when you’re out and about “looking” for interesting things to take pictures of. Some days it’s difficult, then there are others where things jump right out at you.

I could likely do an entire years worth of photographs like these. Don’t you think? I feel that the most interesting ones I’ve taken are all of up close tree branches and trunks or whatever. Those are my favorites at least! What about you? Which are your favorite?

Day 34

Compared to yesterday’s photo, I think this one fails a bit in comparison. Sure, there are some interesting bits here and there, but I don’t think it’s a very inspired angle. Personally, I like the images that are taken from odd angles. You don’t really consciously realize it, but angles like this are rather plain because they’re taken from regular old eye level.

Day 33

Well, there’s a beautiful blue sky today so let’s toss all that bleakness out from the previous posts, and embrace it. When the season inevitably changes to Spring and Summer, I wonder if all my pictures will be taken looking up so I get as much sky in there as possible. I also wonder if I’ll get sick of that pretty quickly? Certainly possible.

Despite the nice blue sky in the photo there, it was actually really cold today! That restricted me to just wandering around my apartment complex to take photos. There’s still lots of interesting spots around here that I haven’t tried to take photos of yet. Pretty soon though (and I’m only 30+ days in) I’m going to have to travel a bit further out. Thankfully the weather should be getting warmer in the next couple months! The sooner the better.

Day 32

I wonder if this would be a go-to spot for survivors in a zombie apocalypse situation? The walls are scale-able, and there’s no choke points where clumps of zombies would gather. There’s also second floor windows, and also the roof itself. Small entrances/exists are also important as good spots to escape if need be.

So yeah! I can totally imagine a horde of mindless zombies gathered together on this pavement area here. I think I’m going to go on my Instagram and darken this picture up a bit. Remove some of the colors too. You know, bleak-ify the whole thing.
